My new album, an 11 track opus, “Glacial” is out now. The album was created with synths, drum machines, and software synthesis. Albeit serious in nature in tone, it is a cathartic excursion into experimental electronica, ambient techno, and IDM.
The album “Glacial” is a commentary on an ever-changing world, climate change crisis, and other serious matters present. The 11 tracks build up throughout the album, it is also a comment on the mysterious glaciers, receding, and changes on this planet. Thank you for listening.
Below is the Bandcamp listening page, plus LinkTree to stream or buy it almost anywhere! CD and Vinyl merch to come in the future. https://linktr.ee/LexicTask
My new 11 track IDM/Electronica album as Lexic Task called “Glacial is out now! It is a commentary on an ever-changing world, an introvert’s haven. It contains ambient, experimental and darker tones than my previous releases. IT also comments on climate crisis, and world events. It builds up to a cathartic release. Glacial was created with synthesis in audio software, except the track “Glacier” which was way back from the 2010 sessions. Most of the other tracks are fairly new. I hope you enjoy it!
New music coming in September! I’m excited to release my new EP, The Build EP, featuring 3 tracks from the forthcoming new album, Glacial LP, which contains 4 tracks from the previously released Glaciers EP. The 12 tracks (including other unreleased ones) will be compiled into the Glacial LP this September. You can pre-save it below, The Builds EP, for now. Glacial is a comment on climate change and other crises, and also a personal meaning of growth and acceptance. Yet also about helping each other out in difficult times.
The album will be available on all streaming platforms, on CD and vinyl. We also might make a shirt avail too.
The 17 track excursion of more optimistic tones, a bit of return to the fare of debut 2020 album “Memories”. Found here are adventurous tracks stemming from EDM, IDM, ambient, ambient techno, house and simply put, electronica. Ambient sounds dominate the album, awash with synths, as the album includes the use of drum programming, synthesizers and digital synthesis, with spare piano. Over all a synth-based album, the music here can appeal just about to anyone. Created by Lexic Task / Matt Kusiba (performance, production, mixing, mastering, artwork). Stream or buy, including link to CD (now available direct from the distributor) here: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/lexictask/glimpses-of-the-endless-sky
Order on CD: bit.ly/OuveureAuraCDdirect “Aura Chorus” by ouveure (side project of Lexic Task) is a 15 track offering, delving into ambient rock, post-rock, psychedelic, and calm tones, with plenty of guitar reverb and delay, synth synthesis, and tidbits of piano. Experimental in nature, some songs were recorded live.
“Aura Chorus” was inspired by many artists, namely, Boards of Canada’s “The Campfire Headphase” set, where more guitars were present, also side projects by Four Tet, also by the Album Leaf’s output such as “In A Safe Place”, and some more acoustic works by The Flashbulb.
Join us live, tomorrow March 15 @ 6pm EST for a free listening party to celebrate 2 years since my album “Zodiax Facts” was released! It is an IDM record. Here is the link:
Join Matt of Lexic Task to celebrate 2 years since “Zodiax Facts” was released! Happening on Bandcamp, the 45 minute, 14 track album of IDM, electronica, and ambient tracks is epic in scope (which at the time seemed like an anti-war comment and still is). It is an immersive IDM electronica album, awash with synths, modular synths, drum machines, loud kick drums, fat bass synths, programming and digital synthesis and effects. It’s a sonic adventure. You can experience it tomorrow
“Somedays (Expanded Edition)” is a updated album of 15 tracks, featuring outtakes, alternate versions and edits, remixes, and a new piano track, “Forsee”, 8 tracks taken from “Somedays” (July 2023) plus 5 new tracks. It’s my chill album, a relaxing ambiance to cope as stress relief. It features the IDM ambient sound, along with hints of deep house, piano melodies, and ambient techno. Features the viral FB stories hit, “Only Some Days”. Pre-order now. All tracks on bandcamp and beatport, are high-resolution WAV 24bit/48K downloads.
My latest, a music video for my band “ouveure’s” song Stars in the Night Sky, a calming, yet epic display of night stars and expanding instrumentals, of guitar. The song is taken from “Aura Chorus”, a 15 track epic instrumental album of experimental guitar passages, drenched in reverb and delay. An atmospheric album which can be characterized as “ambient rock”, the songs weave in and out of the trees in sonic landscapes, and even have a psychedelic tone, yet looking to a brighter future if possible.
The album uses guitars, piano and synths to display and ambiance of longing, or even hiking. Similar in tone to Brian Eno’s use of guitars on “Apollo”, inspirations from Radiohead’s sonic b-side experiments also bare fruit. The album even encompasses the sonic experience of Boards of Canada’s lighter tracks.
In time for Bandcamp Friday, is “Secondary Foundations” by Lexic Task, a double album.
Secondary Foundations is the sister album to 2022’s “Polarization” by Lexic Task. Both albums are a series of backlog tracks dating back from 2011. Here they are presented in album format, WAV 16/44.1khz. It is a darker departure from traditional LT material, techno and ambient techno, ambient tracks, and experimental in nature. The album incorporates the use of digital synthesis, programming, as well as live analog modular synths, and synths including Korg MS20, drum machines TR8, and more.
Join us for the official bandcamp listening party tomorrow, after bandcamp Friday.
